Valencia
Discover Valencia for property value...
Valencia is Spain’s third largest city
and was founded by the Romans as a retirement centre for
long-serving legionnaires. It sits on the
Mediterranean, in the middle of the
Costa Azahar shoreline, and just to the
north of the Costa Blanca.
Tourism forms a very small part of the
provincial economy and thus living in the real
Spain can
become a reality in this unspoilt part of the country.
The city is surrounded by the fertile
plains of the Orange Blossom Coast. The
region features endless miles of
lush orange groves and
is famed for paella – its
celebrated
rice dish. The near
perfect climate makes the area an ideal
location for enjoying the outdoor
life in your villa in Spain. For more details on the year round
climate see here.
This colourful city and surroundings
hosts year-round fiestas and there is a wide variety of things
to see and do - see
here for more information.
With the international airport just 10
minutes from the city centre and country villas located no more
than a few minutes drive away, it is a perfect place to find
Spanish property for sale.
Within a 15 mile radius of the city you
can find the peace and tranquillity you long for – while being
close to the more than one million inhabitants of one
of Europe’s
most lively and vibrant cities.
As well as relaxing in the beautiful
surroundings of these outlying areas you can also benefit from
the nearness of the coastal beaches, an international
airport, universities, schools, hospitals, and some of the
largest shopping centres in Spain.
After taking the time to learn Spanish,
you can also find endless
opportunities for employment or starting your own business
as
Valencia is
one of Spain’s major and fastest
growing business centres.
If you looking for a home in Spain – the
typical Spanish villa or an apartment – you will find the widest
possible choice in Valencia. Happily, the area remains largely
undiscovered by international developers.
However, this likely to change over the coming
years as the airport expands and new high-speed rail links bring
the city to within two hours of Madrid.
This growth will be further accelerated by the
news that the the city is to host the 2007 America's Cup - the
yacht sailing world's biggest international event. This
announcement means that national and regional governments will
bring forward and expand a wide variety of plans - such as
rebuilding the port area and airport.
In November 2003 the Valencian regional government (Conselleria
de Territorio y Vivienda de Communidad Valenciana) reported
that area around Lliria, known as the Campo de Túria, was the
single fastest growing area in the provinces of Alicante,
Valencia, and Castellon. The population had increased by 44%
between 1991 and 2001 and the trend is accelerating.
As an extra attraction, property prices
in Valencia are much lower than similar properties on the Costas
Blanca or Brava. So if you are considering moving to Spain and
the sunshine – then look to Valencia for some of the best value
property investments on offer.
